Become a Coordinator of Saint Joe's Community-Supported Bakery, Bread for All.
We are looking for a bakery coordinator, someone who wants to learn how to bake organic whole wheat loaves, work along side our apprentice bakers, and help out with record keeping and promotion. We currently bake three days a week for about one hundred subscribers. The bakery coordinator will oversee the bakery and work with a committed core of volunteers. Bread for All has begun its second year and will again setup booths at local summer markets. Call the bakery at 585-775-9135; or email us at st.joes.bakery@gmail.com.

We also need a kitchen coordinator at Saint Joe's who could help manage the kitchen.

Apprentice Catholic Worker Farmer
Fiacre Gardens Microfarm is a small, multi-campus organic farm in the Rochester NY area, and a small Catholic Worker agronomic university inspired by the teachings of Peter Maurin.  We are associated with 2 Catholic Worker communities -- the St. Joseph’s House of Hospitality, and Bethany House, both in Rochester.  The Catholic Worker Farmer apprenticeship at Fiacre Gardens is modeled on the apprenticeships often held at small organic farms, in which mentoring, room and board are offered in exchange for labor for one growing season or more, from April to October (or November). The Apprenticeship includes volunteering elsewhere 1 day/week to give a broader hands-on perspective of the Works of Mercy.
